Adopted Plan & Variations

The South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2016 -2022 was made by the Elected Members at a Special Council Meeting on May 16th 2016. 

The County Development Plan will have effect from June 12th 2016 and will be used in the determination of all planning applications from this date.

The written statement, maps and accompanying documents are available below. 

On May 21st 2018, South Dublin County Council made Variations to the South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2016-2022. These variations are effective from May 21st 2018 and include for a zoning amendment to lands at Grangecastle West (Variation No.1) and new text and objectives in relation to the Vacant Site Levy (Variation No. 2).).

SDCC have initiated a Proposed Variation No.3 to rezone c178 hectares of “Enterprise and Employment ” (EE) zoned lands in the Naas Road / Ballymount area to “Regeneration” (REGEN). Written submissions or observations with respect to Proposed Variation No.3 can be made in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Forward Planning Section, Land Use, Planning and Transportation Department, South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 no later than 4.00pm on 18th December 2018 (12.00 midnight if made online) or online at Consultation Portal
