Publication of the South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2016 - 2022

South Dublin County Council has published the new County Development Plan 2016-2022. The written statement, maps and companion documents are available here

The Plan is operational from June 12th 2016.

Adoption of the County Development Plan 2016 - 2022

The South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2016-2022 was made by the Elected Members at a Special Council Meeting on May 16th 2016. Many thanks to the public for their participation in the Plan making process. The Plan will become operational on June 12th 2016. 

 

Development Plan Council Meeting

The Development Plan Council Meeting to consider the Chief Executive's Report on the proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Develpment Plan 2016-2022 public consultation is scheduled for May 16th 2016 from 4pm - 10pm. The agenda for the meeting is available here. Minutes of the Meeting will be available after noting at the next Council Meeting.

Chief Executive's Report on Public Consultation

The Chief Executive's Report on the proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Development Plan 2016-2022 public consultation was finalised and circulated to the Elected Members on April 20th 2016. The Elected Members have a maximum of 6 weeks to consider the report.

 

Public Consultation Closed

The public consultation period for submissions on the proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Plan ended on March 29th 2016. Many thanks to everyone who participated in the public consultation. The Chief Executive is now preparing a report on the submissions received for the consideration of the Elected Members. 

Public Consultation Closing Date - 1 Week to go

Submissions in relation to the proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Plan will be recieved until 4pm on Tuesday March 29th 2016 and can be made online or in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Land Use Planning & Transportation Department, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24

Public Consultation Open - Material Alterations

Material Alterations will be on display from Thursday 25th February 2016 to Tuesday 29th March 2016 here, at Council Offices in Tallaght and Clondalkin and at South Dublin Libraries. Submissions in relation to the proposed Material Alterations may be made online or to the Senior Executive Officer, Land Use Planning & Transportation Department, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24

Elected Members consider Chief Executive's Report

The Elected Members finalised their consideration of the Chief Executive's Report on the submissions received during public consultation on the Draft Plan at a Special Council Meeting on Friday February 5th 2016.

The Chief Executive will now prepare the Material Alterations to the Draft Plan for public consultation. The public consultation on the Material Alterations will commence on Thursday 25th February 2016.

Development Plan Council Meeting

The first Development Plan Council Meeting to consider the Chief Executive's Report on the Draft Develpment Plan 2016-2022 public consultation is scheduled for February 4th from 4pm - 10pm.

Chief Executive Report on Public Consultation

Further public consultation will be carried out if material alterations are made to the Draft Plan.

Public Consultation Closing Date

The closing date to make a submission or observation on the Draft South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2016-2022 is 5 pm on Thursday 24th September 2015 (12.00 midnight if made online). 

Tallaght Echo Newspaper Article on Development Plan

The Tallaght Echo Newspaper Group, Thursday 17th September 2015, printed a feature article on the closing date for public consultation submissions for the Draft County Development Plan 2016 -2022. The full article can be read in the print version of the paper or online in the coming days at www.echo.ie/tallaght.

The deadline for submissions is September 24th and submissions can be made online at www.southdublindevplan.ie or by post to the Senior Executive Officer, Land Use Planning and Transportation Department in South Dublin. 

Upcoming Public Information Sessions

Planning staff will be available to answer questions and assist in making a submission on the Draft County Development Plan this week at the following locations, dates and times:

  • Lucan Library: Tuesday 8th September, 5 – 8:00pm
  • Perrystown Community Centre: Wednesday 9th September, 10 – 1:00pm
  • Clondalkin Library: Thursday 10th September, 5 – 8:00pm

 Please note that these are the final information events and the closing date for submissions is September 24th 2015.

Mayor Sarah Holland officially launches the Draft County Development Plan 2016-22

On Monday 13th July 2015 Mayor Sarah Holland officially launched on public display, the South Dublin County Council Draft Development Plan 2016–22.

Speaking at the launch of the Draft County Development Plan, Mayor Sarah Holland stated, "The County Development Plan represents an opportunity for all citizens, businesses, community groups and stakeholders across South Dublin County to have their say on the future growth of our County. I encourage all interested parties and the public to engage in this public consultation process".

Draft Plan available from Monday July 13th 2015

The Elected Members finalised their consideration of the Chief Executives Draft Plan on Monday 29th June 2015. In accordance with the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), the Draft County Development Plan will be available for public display over a 10 week period from Monday July 13th to Thursday September 24th 2015 and submissions may be made during this period.

Special Development Plan Council Meetings

The Chief Executives Report on Pre Plan Consultation was submitted to the Council in December 2014. The report was formally noted at a Council meeting on February 12th 2015.  Following consideration of the report, the Council issued directions to the Chief Executive Officer in relation to the preparation of the draft plan. The Draft Plan will be available over a 10 week period between July and September 2015 and submissions may be made during this period.

Most Innovative Authority Award

The Local Authority Members Association (LAMA) Community and Council Awards 2015 in association with IPB Insurance took place on January 24th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry. The awards, now heading into their ninth year, acknowledge the important role that business, communications, and tourism play on both a local and national level in conjunction with councils. On the night, LAMA awarded the AES sponsored Most Innovative Authority award to South Dublin County Council for the County Development Plan Public Consultation process.  

Chief Executive's Report on Pre Draft Consultation

The Council received a total of 118 submissions during the Pre Draft public consultation stage in September and October 2014. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this public consultation stage. The submissions were carefully summarised and considered by the Chief Executive Officer and a report was presented to the elected members before Christmas for consideration. The elected members have up to 10 weeks to consider the Chief Executive’s
Report. 

Submission Closing Date

The closing date for submissions/ comments to the Pre Draft stage of the County Development Plan 2016 - 2022 from the public was Friday 31st October at 4pm. Do not hesitate to contact the Plan Team at 01 4149000 or planning.dept@sdublincoco.ie if any queries arise.

Rathcoole and Lucan Public Information Evenings

Many thanks to members of the community who attended the recent public consultation information evenings at Ballyroan Library, Clondalkin Civic Offices and Tallaght Library.
